Our Vision, Our Dream, Our Goal

We look for  books and records in a variety
of world languages so that we can bring the
world closer. It is our hope that the more we
know that we not alone in the we see world,
the way we pray, the way we sing and the
fears we have, the more we appreciate
other peoples prayers, fears, hopes and
dreams.  We have bibles in a variety of
African languages. Currently we have
English-Kiswahili bibles, English-Kiswahili
dictionaries and books in a great many
languages.

We realize that as peoples of the world, we
have more in common than we know or
choose to admit.  Our desire and the single
most reason that we have this operation is
to promote peace and understanding. If only
everyone in the world could commit to learn
one language that is not native to him or her,
we believe we could become a more
enlighted and peaceful world.

Key to Global Understanding

Knowing a foreign language can help you contribute to
making the world a better place.

In today's global environment, the knowledge of other
languages and cultures is an absolute necessity, not only
for economic and political survival, but also for international
cooperation in dealing with the many problems facing the
world today.

The study of foreign languages has always been, in most
parts of the world, an integral part of what it means to be
educated.  However, in  the United States,  this not the
case. Being proficient in more than one language will
enhance your ability to participate effectively in the local,
national, and international debates of the 21st century.

World peace will require an appreciation for
the richness and importance of diverse
cultural, religious, and social systems and a
strengthening of those traditions that
contribute to a sustainable world civilization.
Global understanding demands awareness
of the interdependence of all things and a
profound sense of responsibility for the fate
of the planet and for the well being of
humanity. Developing world mindedness
requires a re-orienting of education to
include among personal, local, and regional
concerns the challenges facing the entire
world. The establishment of a peaceful
society requires the arts of consultation and
collective decision-making.

The development of civilization has occurred
in a spiral pattern with seasons of
enlightenment and periods of darkness, but
with constant advancement. Confidence in
the advent of human maturity and global
community provides the foundation for world
peace.

Our approach is to  encourage an
appreciation of the cultures, traditions and
religions represented by each child, every
mother, every father, every sister and every
brother  in every community in a society.
How Important is Learning a Foreign
Language?

Foreign language education is in the
interest of national and international
security. We need to be able to
understand global events and interactions
from perspectives other than our own.

Yes, you can learn about other cultures in
English, but without knowing the language
of that other culture and being able to
interact with the people in their own
language, your knowledge will remain
superficial.

Is the whole world learning English? No,
but more and more people are. However,
you will never really be on equal footing
with people from another culture, even if
they do speak English. If they know your
language, and you do not know theirs,
you will always be at a decided
disadvantage.

Do you want to make the world a better
place? Gaining knowledge of other
languages and cultures is a good place
to start!
